Tutorial Thursday- "How-to throw the Best Holiday Gathering"

by - 2:23 AM

If any of you watched one of our favorites, "The Mindy Project" Tuesday night you learned exactly what not to do in her episode 'Christmas Party sex trap'! The holidays can be a very stressful time, so let us help you alleviate some stress in the party department. We would love to share with you a few pointers to throwing the best possible holiday party this season.

1--Invitations
This may seem like a non-essential part of the party process since it has become all too easy to send out a mass text, but it matters! We always encourage mailing invites via snail mail, since who doesn't love receiving a beautiful letter in the mail? The postal service is one of the least used forms of communication anymore so we choose to use it on special occasions.

2--Decorations
The traditional red and green Christmas decorations are always cheery and get us into the Christmas spirit, but for our party this year we are changing up the decor. We are mixing white, red, and all different shades of metallic. These colors are also more versatile for the time period (use the same decorations before or after Christmas). How stunning is this metallic table set up?

3--Food & Drinks
This season we are serving a signature drink at our holiday party; this allows you to make a mass quantity ahead of time and actually enjoy your get together. Here's the secret recipe to our favorite bevey of the season!
Ingredients
  • 4 ounces unsweetened Cranberry Juice
  • 1 ounce Bourbon Maple Syrup
  • 2 ounces Bourbon
  • fresh Cranberries

Pour the Ingredients into a martini shaker over ice. Serve in a chilled martini glass with skewed cranberries and mint sprigs. Enjoy!

We love the idea of having our party guests bring dessert! We prepare the food menu ahead of time, but then the dessert table can be more of a potluck. We would also serve the wine/other beverages brought by guests at this table too.

We hope that everyone has a safe and memorable holiday season!
